Penn State rolls past Bucknell in baseball

Seven runs combined in the third and fourth innings powered Penn State past Bucknell 8-1 on Wednesday.

A two-run single by Greg Guers, a base knock from Christian Helsel, and a sacrifice fly by Ryan Sloniger plated four runs in the third frame to open things up for the Nittany Lions.

In the fourth, Guers, Willie Burger and Connor Klemann all had RBI singles.

On the hill, left-hander Nick Hedge was the winning pitcher, tossing four scoreless innings. He let up only two hits and struck out a pair of batters.

Penn State (19-14) travels to Northwestern for a three-game weekend series, beginning Friday.
