Chambers provides injury update ahead of Penn State’s game against No. 1 Duke

Penn State coach Patrick Chambers provided an update on the status of his three injured players at his press conference Thursday.

Davis Zemgulis, Isaiah Washington and Josh Reaves all missed Tuesday’s game against Grand Canyon.

“I feel really confident about Davis and Isaiah,” Chambers said. “I’m not sure yet, I’ll say 50-50 on Josh.”

The Nittany Lions will take on No. 1 Duke at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in Uncasville, Conn.

Zemgulis, who suffered a concussion against Duquesne on Sunday, passed protocol and did some shooting Thursday.

Reaves also did some shooting Thursday.

The starting guard was out for the team’s first three games with a leg injury, and the Nittany Lions miss his presence on the defensive end and on the glass.

“That’s where you miss Josh because Josh is in there and he’s going to rebound for us,” Chambers said. “He’s long, he’s athletic and he’s going to go up and get big-boy rebounds.”
