Lady Lions overcome slow start to beat Pitt
Behind a game-high 27 points from Teniya Page, the Penn State women’s basketball team cruised to a 59-48 win over Pitt on Sunday at Petersen Events Center.
Pitt stormed out to a 10-1 lead in the first quarter but, with 4:30 left in the opening period, the Lady Lions stepped up in a big way. During that span, Penn State held Pitt scoreless during a 16-0 run.
The Lady Lions never trailed from that point on.
The Panthers finished 4 of 25 from long range. Penn State’s Siyeh Frazier added 12 points in the winning effort.
The Lady Lions (9-3) will next take on American on the road Wednesday.
