Penn State men’s basketball has had its third game in a row canceled. The Nittany Lions will not play Delaware State Wednesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Delaware State program.

The cancellation comes after Penn State canceled its previous two games — a road game against VCU and a home game against Quinnipiac — due to positive tests within its own program.

Like those two games, the matchup with Delaware State will not be rescheduled. The Nittany Lions returned to practice Sunday after the positive COVID tests and are set to jump back into play on Jan. 2 for the first time since Dec. 11 when they took on Michigan State and lost, falling to 5-5 on the season and 0-2 in the Big Ten. The Jan. 2 matchup will be against the Indiana Hoosiers, as the most recent cancellation was the last scheduled non-conference game of the season for Penn State.

The Lions finished 5-3 in non-conference play and have 18 regular season games remaining, all against Big Ten opponents.
