Penn State men’s basketball added a second commitment to its 2023 recruiting class Tuesday. Guard Logan Imes announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions and head coach Micah Shrewsberry via his personal Twitter account.

Imes is the second player to join the class, after Braeden Shrewsberry, Micah’s son and a three-star guard, committed in late November.

The latest addition plays for Zionsville High School in Zionsville, Indiana, and led the Eagles in scoring as a junior with 17.8 points per game, according to MaxPreps. He chose the Nittany Lions over offers from schools like Creighton and Virginia Tech — two teams that made the NCAA Tournament this season. Imes also has a relationship with Shrewsberry, who he played with on the Indiana Elite 2023 team in the offseason.

His addition to the class brings means the group now has two guards as the team would be set to lose senior guard Jalen Pickett — who is out of eligibility after next season.

Imes and Shrewsberry represent the foundation for the group that will be following the 2022 class — one that has been ranked as the best in program history.
