Penn State has given women’s basketball head coach Carolyn Kieger a contract extension, following a unanimous vote Friday morning by the board of trustees subcommittee on compensation.

The terms were not immediately disclosed.

Since arriving to the program prior to the 2019-2020 season from Marquette, Kieger has posted a 27-56 (.325) over record in three seasons. The Nittany Lions have gone 12-43 (.218) in Big Ten play.

The Lady Lions held a 11-18 record this season, their best under Kieger. Junior guard Makenna Marisa was named as a first-team All-Big Ten selection during the 2021-2022 campaign.

While sophomore guard Tova Sabel, junior guard Shay Hagans and sophomore guard Maddie Burke have entered the transfer portal, the Lady Lions have added former Oregon forward Chanaya Pinto and former Temple forward Alexa Williamson to the program on April 27 and April 26, respectively.
