Penn State men’s basketball adds transfer forward Michael Henn from Denver
Penn State men’s basketball announced the addition of 6-foot-8 forward Michael Henn on Monday.
Henn, a Denver transfer, joins the program in his final season of eligibility. Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry is looking forward to bringing Henn into the fold.
“We are excited to have Michael Henn as a part of the Penn State basketball family,” Shrewsberry said in a statement. “He brings us some much-needed size and experience in the frontcourt. Michael is a great student who should be an asset for our program both on and off the court.”
While at Denver last season, Henn averaged 8.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game and shot 46.8% from the field. He proved to be a marksman from the 3-point line, shooting 38.0% from deep and shot 73.6% from the free throw line. Prior to joining Denver, he began his career with UC Davis (2016-2017), transfered to California Baptist (2017-2020) and played for Portland in 2020-2021.
Graduate transfers Andrew Funk (Bucknell) and Camren Wynte (Drexel) are also set to join the program. Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class is ranked 66th in the nation, per On3. It’s the highest rated recruiting class in program history.
