The Big Ten announced its men’s basketball awards Tuesday afternoon and several Penn State players were honored — including Jalen Pickett.

The Nittany Lion guard was named a first team All-Big Ten player by the coaches and the media shortly after being named a Sporting News All American earlier in the day.

Pickett is averaging 18 points, 7.3 rebounds and seven assists per game this year, the only player in the country hitting all three marks. Pickett has been integral to the team’s success on both ends of the floor this year, and had a stretch against Illinois and Minnesota when he scored 73 points across the two games.

He was joined in being honored by Seth Lundy and Andrew Funk, who were both named honorable mention by the coaches and media.

Lundy and Funk are two of the best shooters in the conference, with the former shooting 40.9% from deep and the latter shooting 40.6%.

Funk earns the honor in his only year as a Nittany Lion after transferring in from Bucknell. He’s averaging 12 points per game and is one of the best off-ball players in the conference.

Lundy earned it in his fourth season with the program, averaging 14 points per game while playing high level defense for Penn State — frequently guarding the opponent’s best player.

The trio of honorees and the rest of the Nittany Lions will head to Chicago for the Big Ten Tournament to take on Illinois in the second round Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
