Penn State men’s basketball has lost its third player to the transfer portal since Micah Shrewsberry left for Notre Dame.

Freshman center Kebba Njie entered the portal Monday evening, he told the Centre Daily Times.

Njie started 26 of the Nittany Lions’ 37 games, including both NCAA Tournament matchups. He came on strong as the season wound to a close, finishing the year as a solidified part of the rotation. Njie averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his first season of college basketball.

He joins fellow freshmen Evan Mahaffey and Jameel Brown as players to enter the portal since Shrewsberry’s departure. Both Brown and Mahaffey were at new head coach Mike Rhoades’ introductory press conference.

Njie’s status leaves freshmen Demetrius Lilley and Kanye Clary as the only scholarship Nittany Lions not in the portal.

Upperclassmen Dallion Johnson and Caleb Dorsey both entered prior to Shrewsberry’s departure.
