Penn State basketball adds UNC’s D’Marco Dunn from transfer portal to fill out roster
Penn State men’s basketball has finally completed its first roster under new head coach Mike Rhoades.
North Carolina transfer guard D’Marco Dunn announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions Thursday evening on his Instagram page.
Dunn was a top 100 player in the country in the 2021 recruiting class and spent two seasons with the Tar Heels. He entered the portal after averaging 10.3 minutes in 27 games played. In those games he averaged 2.7 points per game and had a season high of 14 against Louisville.
With the addition of Dunn, the team is at a full allotment of 13 scholarship players.
He joins a team that added Ace Baldwin Jr. (VCU), Nick Kern Jr. (VCU), Zach Hicks (Temple), Puff Johnson (North Carolina), Wahab (Georgetown), Leo O’Boyle (Lafayette), Favour Aire (Miami) and RayQuawndis Mitchell (Kansas City) from the transfer portal and Bragi Gudmundsson from Iceland while retaining Lilley, Kanye Clary and Jameel Brown from last year’s Penn State team.
With the team now set, the staff is expected to turn its attention to the 2024 high school class as it looks to build its first freshman recruiting class.
