Lady Lions fall to Michigan on the road

Penn State women’s basketball lost a close game to Michigan on Saturday, 78-73.

Penn State (10-17, 5-11 Big Ten) was paced by four players in double-digit scoring, but Michigan’s Hallie Thome and Katelynn Flaherty combined for 50 points and helped stave off the Lady Lions despite five lead changes between the two.

Freshman Teniya Page led Penn State in scoring with 22 points, while Brianna Banks lent 13, Kaliyah Mitchell had 12 and Lindsey Spann scored 14 in the effort.

The Lady Lions return to the Bryce Jordan Center on Wednesday, Feb. 24 for their final home game of the regular season and a Senior Night matchup against Iowa at 7 p.m.
