Penn State’s season opener to kick off at noon, be televised on ABC
As of Thursday, Penn State’s 2017 season is 100 days away — and now we know when the campaign will kick off.
The Nittany Lions’ Sept. 2 season opener against Akron will start at noon and be televised on ABC, according to an ESPN news release.
Penn State is 5-0 all-time against the Zips with a combined margin of victory of 204-60. The last time the two teams played was in 2014 — a 21-3 win in James Franklin’s first home game at Penn State.
Penn State’s opener is the appetizer for two blockbuster matchups on ABC. Michigan and Florida face off at 3:30 p.m. followed by Alabama and Florida State playing at 8 p.m.
Mark your calendars.
