ESPN’s College GameDay has an on-campus site locked down: the Old Main lawn.

The pregame show will air live from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday ahead of No. 2 Penn State’s primetime game against No. 19 Michigan at Beaver Stadium.

Fans can begin lining up for access to the pit at 4 a.m. Saturday, with the pit opening at 6:30 a.m. Overnight camping is not allowed. No bags, purses, backpacks, food or drinks, drawing material or inappropriate signage are permitted.

Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour said in a statement that they’ve had a regularly-held group meeting dating back before the season so they’d “be ready for the call from GameDay.”

“Over the last two days we have worked with ESPN to finalize a set location and are excited to announce the show will originate on the lawn of our iconic Old Main, which we think will make for a memorable setting for everyone who attends and the ESPN audience,” Barbour said. “I want to thank those in ICA, on campus and in the community who have, and will be, assisting the GameDay crew throughout the week leading up to a fantastic showcase for Penn State’s academic excellence, its students, the football program and our community.”

College GameDay is coming to Happy Valley for the first time since 2009. The seven-time Emmy Award-winning program will make its sixth appearance at Penn State.
