Football
QB Trace McSorley earns weekly Walter Camp honor
Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday after rushing for three touchdowns and throwing for another during the 42-13 win over Michigan.
The last Nittany Lion to earn the weekly Camp honor was Brandon Bell last season, against Michigan State.
McSorley finished 17-of-26 passing Saturday for 282 yards. He also rushed for 76 yards.
Field hockey
PSU dominates Indiana
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. The No. 6 Penn State field hockey team made quick work of Indiana on Sunday with a 7-1 victory.
The Nittany Lions’ Moira Putsch finished with a hat trick by registering goals at the 5-, 10- and 53-minute marks. Her two goals in the game’s opening 10 minutes gave Penn State a lead it would never relinquish.
Goalkeeper Jenny Rizzo made three saves and allowed no goals. Colleen Conway surrendered the Hoosiers’ lone score.
The Nittany Lions will next compete at noon Sunday in the Big Ten tournament.

Nittany Lions’ offense explodes
PISCATAWAY, N.J. In a battle of teams still searching for their first conference win, Penn State turned it on in a big way during a 6-2 victory over Rutgers on Sunday.
Heading into the game, Penn State (3-9-2) had registered just eight goals on the season.
Ethan Beckford paced the Nittany Lions with two goals, while three others had one: Ryan Gallagher, Aymar Sigue, Mac Curran and Daniel Gonzalez.
Women’s golf
PSU wins tourney
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. Penn State finished with a three-round total of 25-over to capture the crown among the nine-team field at the Blue Hen Invitational on Sunday.
The Nittany Lions finished 10 strokes ahead of the runner-up, host Delaware.
Jackie Rogowicz paced Penn State with an even-par 216 to finish second individually. The Nittany Lions will next take part in the Landfall Tradition from Friday-Sunday in Wilmington, N.C.
Men’s tennis
2 advance at regionals
LYNCHBURG, Va. Two Nittany Lions remain alive in the ITA Regionals at Liberty University.
In singles, Christos Antonopoulos advanced to the next round after picking up two wins — a 6-4, 6-3 win over William & Mary’s Finbar Talcott and a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Virginia Tech’s Jason Kross. In doubles, Antonopoulos and Alp Sentay both moved on to the semifinals after beating Old Dominion’s pair 8-5.
The tournament continues Monday.
