Nittany Lions’ Trace McSorley, Jason Cabinda earn national awards

Fresh off a 42-13 rout of Michigan, Penn State football players Trace McSorley and Jason Cabinda picked up national awards on Tuesday.

McSorley was named the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week. Cabinda picked up his second Lott IMPACT Defensive Player of the Week honor.

McSorley finished the game 17-of-26 passing for 282 yards and one score through the air. He also added contributions with his legs, recording 76 yards and three rushing scores.

Cabinda led the Nittany Lions with 13 tackles and had a half sack. He also forced his second career fumble.
