Penn State football raising season ticket prices for first time since 2009

Ticket renewals for Penn State football started Monday — and early birds received an unwanted surprise.

For the first time since 2009, the cost of season football tickets has increased. Season tickets for all seats in Beaver Stadium will now cost an additional $35, or $5 per game.

Those aren’t the only increases fans can expect either.

Although season parking passes for cars and buses — along with advance single-game parking — will remain the same, parking purchased on game day will rise to $60. Overnight RV season parking permits will also rise by $200 for those arriving on Friday and will now cost $1,000.

Overnight RV parking for those arriving Thursday will remain at $1,400 for a season permit. But Saturday arrival will also no longer be offered.

According to the university, information on student tickets and single-game public tickets will be announced early next year.

“The decisions we make come with careful deliberation about the potential impact on our loyal fans and community and the conditions for success they create for our student-athletes,” Athletic Director Sandy Barbour said in a news release.

The 2018 home games for the Nittany Lions include Appalachian State (Sept. 1), Kent State (Sept. 15), Ohio State (Sept. 29), Michigan State (Oct. 13), Iowa (Oct. 27), Wisconsin (Nov. 10) and Maryland (Nov. 24).
