Here’s how Twitter reacted to news of Saquon Barkley’s Heisman snub
Saquon Barkley, a once-in-a-generation talent and dropper of jaws, won’t be in New York City this weekend for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Surprisingly, he is not a finalist for the coveted award. And there was plenty of outrage on Twitter from Penn State players and fans.
Here are some of the top reactions to Barkley being left home, while Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, Stanford’s Bryce Love and Louisville’s Lamar Jackson head to New York.
Marcus Allen — Penn State’s dynamic senior safety and one of Barkley’s close friends — wasn’t pleased to see his teammate’s name left out of consideration.

And I’m not even saying that cause he’s my brother/teammate, it’s because he real live EARNED it and that’s just real !!

Nittany Lions cornerback Amani Oruwariye agreed with Allen.

Ricky Slade — a four-star 2018 Penn State running back commit — expressed his displeasure, as well.

Sporting News writer Michael DeCourcy believes Barkley should’ve won the award, not just be a finalist.

One fan thinks Barkley should come back for his senior season to win the Heisman. Not likely but, hey, it’s worth a shot.
@saquonb21 gotta come back now homie #STAYquon #onemoreyear
