Penn State announces 2018 Homecoming football game

Mark your calendars and plan accordingly, Nittany Lion fans: Penn State has its Homecoming opponent.

The Nittany Lions will host Michigan State on Oct. 13, 2018, on Homecoming weekend. The kick time will be announced closer to the season.

A Homecoming crowd will add a bit more intrigue to an already-important game. Penn State’s College Football Playoff hopes went up in flames last season with a 27-24 loss to Michigan State in East Lansing, and 2018’s meeting could help decide the Big Ten East.

A revenge game with conference title implications sure beats recent Homecoming opponents. Penn State hosted Rutgers, Maryland and Indiana the past three Homecoming weekends.

The Nittany Lions had a packed slate to choose from. Penn State also hosts Big Ten foes Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa and Maryland in 2018.

The Nittany Lions’ game against the Buckeyes will likely be next year’s White Out — and two weeks later, Sparty comes to town for Homecoming.
