What are the Big Ten’s bowl teams getting for the holidays? Here’s the 2019 bowl-gift breakdown

With the holiday season upon us, we thought now would be the perfect time to look at the bowl gifts each Big Ten team is receiving this postseason.

Unfortunately, the Goodyear Cotton Bowl and the national championship are the only bowls that declined to share what their gifts are — so there’s no telling just yet what Penn State’s players will get. But, like all players in participating bowls, each Nittany Lion will be allowed to receive up to $550 in gifts.

There is one catch this year, too. On top of that $550, players are also able to receive a commemorative coin or the “History of the Bowls: Celebrating The Good of The Game” book, and those items don’t count toward the $550 limit.

Here’s a closer look at the Big Ten teams’ gifts, as compiled by the Sports Business Journal, which has done so annually since 2006:

New Era Pinstripe Bowl (3:20 p.m. Dec. 27): Michigan State (6-6) vs. Wake Forest (8-4): JBL/Harmon gift card, a variety of New Era products
