Penn State football’s 2022 recruiting class lands commitment from quarterback Beau Pribula

Penn State football’s 2022 recruiting class continued its momentum Monday afternoon when it added its quarterback. Pennsylvania native Beau Pribula made the call for the Nittany Lions via his Twitter account.

Pribula is a three-star quarterback according to the 247Sports player rankings and is the No. 11 player from the state in the class. He’s the third player to join the 2022 class after four-star wide receiver Kaden Saunders and four-star tight end Jerry Cross committed in the last two weeks of July.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback chose Penn State over 12 other scholarship offers listed on his 247Sports profile, including offers from fellow Big Ten programs Nebraska, Northwestern and Rutgers. Penn State offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca is listed as his primary recruiter on his profile, while tight ends coach Tyler Bowen is listed as his secondary recruiter.

Pribula could potentially work with Ciarrocca when he gets to campus in what would be the offensive coordinator’s third year on campus doubling as the team’s quarterback coach.

He has the athleticism to be a threat in the running game and the passing game if Ciarrocca can refine the young quarterback’s throwing motion and footwork.

The newest Nittany Lion commit is entering his junior year at Central York High School after helping the team to a 9-2 record in 2019. He threw for 1,006 yards and six touchdowns on 66 completions as a sophomore, along with rushing for 298 yards and 10 touchdowns on 58 attempts according to his MaxPreps profile.

Pribula’s addition to the class keeps it at No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 6 in the country in 2022, according to the 247Sports class calculator, because the quarterback isn’t ranked yet by 247Sports.
