Big Ten announces Penn State’s homecoming kickoff time vs. Illinois. Here’s what to expect

Penn State’s homecoming football game now has set time and date.

The No. 7 Nittany Lions will look to redeem themselves following their first loss of the season to Iowa. Penn State squares off against the against Illinois on Oct. 23 with the game airing at noon on ABC, the Big Ten announced on Monday. This matchup will mark Penn State’s 193rd all-time appearance on ABC and its 358th game on the ESPN family of networks.

This is Penn State’s second game of the season at noon after holding a Week 5 matchup at the same time against Villanova.

Penn State has a 20-5 all-time record against Illinois and the Nittany Lions hold a 72-23-5 record in homecoming matchups. They’ve won four of their last five homecoming games.

Penn State’s last game against Illinois resulted in a 56-21 victory on Dec. 20, 2020 at home. The Nittany Lions currently hold a 3-game winning streak against the Fighting Illini.
