LIVE BLOG: Updates, analysis, photos from Penn State football vs. Michigan
CDT staff reports
The 6-3 Nittany Lions are looking to build off the momentum of last week’s road win over Maryland by knocking off No. 9 Michigan.
Will Sean Clifford and the Nittany Lions be able to get it done? Follow reporters Jon Sauber and Kyle J. Andrews for updates and analysis throughout the game, and visual journalist Abby Drey for scenes from on the field.

Stout makes his third field goal of the game and the Nittany Lions have a 17-14 lead with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Arnold Ebiketie just dominated another left tackle. What a massive play against Hayes once again and Penn State will have less than 20 yards to score a touchdown after the strip-sack.

Great catch by Tyler Warren, great catch by Jahan Dotson and we are all tied up at Beaver Stadium. Excellent throw by Clifford on the 2-point conversion.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Lee and Dotson have been excellent this drive.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Clifford throws 14 yards short of the sticks on third-and-17 and Penn State will presumably punt.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
James Franklin has said he needs to see a running back separate himself from the pack to let them carry the load, and it seems like that is happening with Keyvone Lee.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Stout can't hit from 43 yards out and Michigan will get the ball back. Not great after Penn State showed a little bit of life offensively.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Big three-and-out for Penn State's defense. Nittany Lions needed that after that last drive.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Announced attendance: 109,534

Aidan Hutchinson is a true game wrecker.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Michigan is getting going offensively now. Another relatively easy drive down the field that ends with a second Roman Wilson touchdown for the Wolverines. 14-6, Michigan leads.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Michigan is up 7-6 over Penn State after the first half. pic.twitter.com/FWbHta7nJB

Michigan leads Penn State at the half, 7-6.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
’
Stout hits from 52 yards out and Penn State now trails 7-6 with 31 seconds left in the half. Don't envision Michigan trying to do much here on offense.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Great play to get the ball to Parker Washington up the seam, but Penn State's offense stalls again, this time via a Clifford fumble.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Big stop by Penn State. Imperative to get something going offensively here to get things back in their favor.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Nice throw by Cade McNamara to find Roman Wilson in the end zone to give Michigan the 7-3 lead. Penn State had a chance to get off the field early in the drive but everything else was relatively easy for the Wolverines.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Aidan Hutchinson just went right through Caedan Wallace to get that strip-sack, his second sack of the day.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Penn State leads 3-0 at the end of the first quarter. Feels like Penn State is winning on both sides of the ball right now.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Juice Scruggs starts the drive at center for Penn State with Bryce Effner at right guard. Mike Miranda not currently in the game.

I say this as an advocate for any and all trick plays, but you're at the two. The negative outcomes aren't as negative if you don't rely on your kicker in the open field. https://t.co/728D84lErU
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Great start for the Penn State defense. Could've been even better, but it didn't look like anyone but Brandon Smith, who ran into Arnold Ebiketie, saw where the ball was there.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Stout closes the drive out with a 42-yard field goal for Penn State. Offense stalled out pretty badly after the successful fake. Michigan's pass rush is clearly causing problems for the linemen. PSU leads, 3-0.

Saw Curtis Jacobs do this a ton in high school at @McDonoghFB with @CoachLester18 training him. No surprise to me. https://t.co/6OL9cwpFFt

What a throw by Jordan Stout to Curtis Jacobs.
— Jon Sauber (@JonSauber) November 13, 2021
Great job of staying alive by Sean Clifford to find Parker Washington on that third down. Less great job of blocking by the OL to allow David Ojabo to get his first sack of the day on the next play.

Michigan still is expected to have Haskins and Donovan Edwards. Not going to be able to watch the former St. Frances star today though... https://t.co/b8HFy6UPVc
