Penn State star receiver Jahan Dotson named first team All-Big Ten, 5 others honored
One of the top wide receivers in Penn State history was named one of the top receivers in the Big Ten for the 2021 season. Senior Jahan Dotson was named a first team All-Big Ten receiver by the media Wednesday afternoon.
Dotson received the honor after amassing career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns this season. He tallied 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns this season on 91 receptions, frequently carrying the Penn State offense. Dotson set the single game program receiving yard record with 242 against Maryland in November.
The senior wide receiver was the most productive player on Penn State’s offense this year.
He was also named to the second team All-Big Ten by the coaches after previously being named the conference’s third-team punt returner by the coaches and an honorable mention at that spot by the media.
He was joined on the All-Big Ten offense by redshirt junior offensive tackle Rasheed Walker, who was named to the All-Big Ten third team by the media.
The offensive line as a whole had its struggles, but Walker was a consistent piece for the group on the left side.
Four other Nittany Lions were honored on the offensive side of the ball, with redshirt senior quarterback Sean Clifford and redshirt junior offensive lineman Juice Scruggs earning honorable mention status from both the coaches and media while the media also chose redshirt senior center Mike Miranda and redshirt sophomore Brenton Strange as honorable mentions.
Wednesday’s announcements came after Penn State had 12 players honored Tuesday on its defense and special teams, including consensus first teamers Jaquan Brisker and Arnold Ebiketie and punter of the year Jordan Stout.
