Saquon Barkley, Jahan Dotson and Shaka Toney among Penn State football graduates
Saquon Barkley once made a promise to his mother that he’d finish his degree at Penn State.
After finishing up his collegiate career and playing four years in the National Football League with the New York Giants, he’s made that promise a reality. Barkley graduated on Saturday from Penn State with a degree in communications.
Barkley won a Big Ten championship in 2016, was named an All-American, a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2015. During his three-year career with the Nittany Lions, Barkley totaled 671 carries, 3,843 rushing yards (5.7 yards per carry) and 43 rushing touchdowns. He added 102 receptions, 1,195 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns.
Fifteen current and former Penn State football players earned their degrees including Washington Commanders 2022 first-round selection Jahan Dotson and 2021 seventh-round pick Shaka Toney. Dotson initially considered not attending his graduation ceremony, but Commanders head coach Ron Rivera urged him to go, according to pennlive.com.
