Penn State Football

Penn State football set to play on CBS for the first time in 22 years. Here’s what to know

The Nittany Lions haven’t played a game on CBS since Sept. 16, 2000 at Pittsburgh, where they lost 12-0 to the Panthers.

This time around against Auburn, Penn State will play against the Southeastern Conference powerhouse in the second game of a home-and-home series at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 on CBS, Penn State Athletics announced on Wednesday. It will be the Nittany Lions’ 26th appearance on the network.

Penn State leads the all-time series against Auburn with a 2-1 lead with its latest win coming on Sept. 18, 2021 in a 28-20 game. Nittany Lions quarterback Sean Clifford went 28-for-32 on passes for 280 yards, two touchdown passes and an interception.
