The Big Ten announced its 2023 football schedule. Which teams will Penn State play?
The Big Ten football schedule for 2023 was announced on Wednesday.
Penn State will begin the season with two straight non-conference home games against West Virginia (Sept. 2) and Delaware (Sept. 9). Big Ten play will open with Illinois on the road on Sept. 16. Penn State will host Iowa (Sept. 23), prior to traveling to Northwestern on Sept. 30.
The Nittany Lions will then host Massachusetts (Oct. 14) for the team’s final non-conference matchup of 2023, followed by an away contest against Ohio State (Oct. 21). Penn State will be home against Indiana (Oct. 28) and travel to Maryland on Nov. 4. The program will round out its Big Ten schedule with Michigan (Nov. 11) and Rutgers (Nov. 18) at home, prior to a road contest with Michigan State on (Nov. 25).
The Big Ten Championship Game will be held on Dec. 2 at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis.
Big Ten’s East and West divisions are here to stay despite speculation, per The Athletic. East and West divisions may be scrapped when USC and UCLA join the conference in 2024. The league announced in August that a new media deal was reached with CBS, FOX and NBC that will last until the 2029-30 season. CBS will televise seven conference games in 2023 and will increase to 15 in 2024.
Times of each game will be announced throughout next season.
