Penn State has made another addition to its roster less than a month after the end of its spring practice.

Old Dominion DT Alonzo Ford announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions Wednesday night. He made the announcement via his Twitter.

Ford racked up 72 total tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble over the last two seasons. He had 3.5 of those sacks in 2022, where he earned All-Sun Belt honorable mention for the Monarchs. The defensive tackle played under former Penn State offensive coordinator and current Monarchs head coach Ricky Rahne at Old Dominion.

Adding him to the roster helps fill a position of need at defensive tackle. He should be able to step into the program’s rotation at the position as it looks to take up the snaps occupied by former DT PJ Mustipher who signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent.

The 6-foot-3, 272-pound addition to the defensive tackle room has two years of eligibility remaining, along with a redshirt available.
