Penn State’s cornerback room added some depth Tuesday afternoon and did it by pulling a player from an SEC school.

Cornerback Audavion Collins committed to the Nittany Lions after spending his first college season at Mississippi State. He entered the transfer portal this offseason and announced his decision on Instagram.

Collins did not play as a freshman for the Bulldogs and joined the program after playing in high school in Covington, Georgia for Newton High School.

He was a three-star prospect as a recruit, when he was the No. 63 corner in the country and the No. 71 player in Georgia, according to the 247Sports Composite player rankings.

Collins is the second to join the program this offseason via the transfer portal after Storm Duck transferred in from North Carolina. Duck, however, has already transferred out and is now at Louisville. The latest addition brings more youth to the room and could add more value in the long term than the short term.

His commitment comes shortly after former Penn State running back Keyvone Lee enrolled at Collins’ former school, Mississippi State, according to multiple reports.
