Four-star 2023 TE Mega Barnwell no longer on Penn State football roster

One of Penn State’s 2023 signees is no longer on the roster.

Former four-star tight end Mega Barnwell is no longer on the program, a Penn State spokesperson confirmed to the Centre Daily Times Monday evening.

Barnwell was a member of the team’s 2023 recruiting class. He was listed at 6-foot-6, 250 pounds and was a candidate to potentially move to either the offensive or defensive line at some point in his career. He was rated as the No. 415 player in the country and the No. 10 player in Virginia coming out of high school, according to the 247Sports Composite player rankings.

Barnwell was not expected to compete for playing time this season at a position that features players like Theo Johnson, Tyler Warren and Khalil Dinkins at the top of the depth chart.
