Former Penn State LB Paul Posluszny to be inducted into College Football Hall of Fame

Penn State has added another linebacker to the College Football Hall of Fame.

Former Nittany Lion linebacker Paul Posluszny will be inducted with the 2024 class, the program announced Monday.

Posluszny is the 21st Nittany Lion player to be inducted into the hall of fame, with fellow linebacker LaVar Arrington being the most recent after he was inducted as part of the 2022 class.

“It is (an) incredible honor to be named to the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class,” Posluszny said in a statement. “Football is the ultimate team game, and when an individual gets honored, you think of all the people who have played a role in allowing this to happen. I would like to thank my family, specifically my parents, Paul and Jackie, and my brothers and sisters, Stan, Mary, David and Anne, for their endless support of my football career growing up. I am also incredibly thankful to my Penn State teammates and coaches, who I share this honor with and am grateful for everything we accomplished together. To the Nittany Lion community, it was a tremendous privilege for me to play in front of the greatest fans in the nation.”

The former Nittany Lions spent four years with the program from 2003-2006 and racked up several accolades in that time. He’s a two-time first team All-American and two-time first team All-Big Ten player, and won the Butkus Award for the nation’s best linebacker in 2005 and the Bednarik Award for the nation’s best defensive player in 2005 and 2006.

He was ultimately selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 2007 NFL Draft with the 34th overall pick.

Posluszny and the rest of the 2024 class will be inducted on Dec. 10 at the 66th National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner in Las Vegas.
