Penn State football adds FIU to non-conference schedule in 2025, per source
Penn State football has added a third non-conference game to its 2025 schedule.
The Nittany Lions will take on FIU on Sept. 6, 2025 at Beaver Stadium, a source told the Centre Daily Times.
The Action Network’s Brett McMurphy first reported the news.
The game will be sandwiched between the Nittany Lions’ other two scheduled non-conference games. They’re set to open the season on Aug. 30 against Nevada and then take on Villanova on Sept. 13. Both of those games will also be at home for Penn State. The two programs have faced off once before, when they met in 2007. The Nittany Lions won that game 59-0 to open their season.
Penn State’s conference schedule has not been laid out by the Big Ten, although the team’s opponents are known. It will take on Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, Rutgers and UCLA on the road, while Indiana, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon and the three non-conference opponents will play the Nittany Lions in Beaver Stadium.
The Nittany Lions’ 2024 season will kick off on Aug. 31 when they take on West Virginia in Morgantown.
