Penn State stays steady in AP top 25 despite No. 1 Texas’ loss to Georgia. See the full rankings

Penn State is still the No. 3 team in the country, according to the AP top 25 poll.

The Nittany Lions remained at their spot this week after their bye week. Previously No. 1 Texas lost at home to Georgia Saturday night, 30-15, and fell to No. 4 in the poll, but Georgia leaped PSU to get to No. 2.

Penn State is still the second-highest ranked Big Ten team, behind only No. 1 Oregon, and is one of five ranked Big Ten teams overall, joining the Ducks, Ohio State (No. 4), Indiana (No. 13) and Illinois (No. 20).

The Nittany Lions’ 1,375 voting points put them only 59 behind Georgia and 22 ahead of No. 4 Ohio State.

Now that their bye is over, PSU will take on Wisconsin Saturday night on the road in Madison. That game will lead into the team’s regular season defining matchup with Ohio State on Nov. 2 in Beaver Stadium.
