Saturday night didn’t finish with the result that Penn State fans hoped for — but the Big Ten championship game still proved to be a memorable one.
Both Oregon and Penn State fans traveled from opposite ends of the country to experience the pageantry and pregame festivities of the conference before descending on the 63,000-seat stadium. Ultimately, the Oregon Ducks held on to win, 45-37, at Lucas Oil Stadium. But, even with the loss, Penn State should still host a first-round playoff game.

The Nittany Lions arrived at the stadium around 6 p.m. Saturday, or about two hours before kickoff. Right tackle Anthony Donkoh walked to the field on crutches, while others warmed up and prepared for the conference title game.

The Nittany Lions ended up losing 45-37. With about two minutes left in the game, Penn State QB Drew Allar tossed a pick to essentially seal the game. The Ducks ran the clock out afterward, after converting a third down.
