Penn State football announces date for annual Blue-White spring game during CFP matchup vs. SMU

Penn State announced the date for its annual spring game during Saturday afternoon’s College Football Playoff game, with the athletic department telling the crowd the free-to-attend scrimmage will take place April 26.

The game is annually held as the team’s 15th and final spring practice. While the program announced the date for the game, the kickoff time has yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date.

Every year fans flock to State College to watch the intrasquad scrimmage, with an estimated 63,000 in attendance last year. The Nittany Lions have drawn at least 60,000 fans in nine of the last 10 seasons it has taken place.

The Nittany Lions’ spring game will lead into the 2025 season opener, which will also take place in Beaver Stadium. That game will be played on Aug. 30 when Penn State takes on the Nevada Wolf Pack in a nonconference game.

In the meantime, Penn State looks to continue its run in the College Football Playoff, with a matchup with Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl looming on Dec. 31.
