When is Penn State football’s 2025 White Out game? Opponent, date announced

Penn State has announced its White Out for the 2025 season and it will be in the team’s biggest home game of the season.

The Nittany Lions have made their Sept. 27 game against the Oregon Ducks this year’s White Out, with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC.

The program hasn’t had the annual tradition against a top-10 opponent since 2018 when it played No. 4 Ohio State. The program has dealt with issues with kickoff times that stemmed from broadcast network selections. That has pushed it to being a 3:30 p.m. or night game kick against less-vaunted opponents.

The Nittany Lions have gone 5-0 in White Out games since that matchup with the Buckeyes in 2018, which was a 27-26 loss in one of the best games of that college football season.

The Nittany Lions and Ducks are both likely to be undefeated and ranked in the top-10 for the game, barring any upsets early in the season. And there’s a strong likelihood that they’ll both be in the top five of the AP top 25 poll if each takes care of business in the beginning of September.

Penn State also announced the kickoff times for its first three games — all of which are also at home. The Nittany Lions will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 against Nevada in a game that will air on CBS, at noon on Sept. 6 against FIU on Big Ten Network, and at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 against Villanova on FS1.
