Penn State’s Drew Allar featured in ad for Travis Kelce’s new clothing line
Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is one of six athletes in an ad campaign promoting Travis Kelce’s new design collaboration with American Eagle.
Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, launched his brand Tru Kolors’ collection with American Eagle Wednesday, a day after announcing his engagement to singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. Along with Allar, other athletes featured are tennis player Anna Frey, basketball players Azzi Fudd and Kiyan Anthony, gymnast Suni Lee and football player Jeremiah Smith.
During a media call Wednesday morning, Allar said being part of the campaign was a great experience and an opportunity he wanted to take advantage of.
“I had a great time meeting all the people involved in that and really getting to see the behind-the-scenes sort of thing. It’s really cool to be a part of a project like that,” Allar said. “I’m really excited for all the things that it’ll bring, for sure. But it was definitely a blessing to be a part of that. I’m very grateful to Travis Kelce and that whole crew for inviting me out there to be a part of that.”
In a note from Kelce on American Eagle’s blog, he said believes the best way to live is with authenticity, joy and optimism, which is what Tru Kolors has stood for. The collection was designed to capture that energy, he said.
Each detail of the AE x TK collab was made with intention, he wrote, “a reminder to play hard, dream big, and enjoy the journey.”
“I’m inspired by where I come from and the people around me. That’s why we chose six incredible athletes — Anna, Azzi, Drew, Kiyan, Suni, and Jeremiah — who stay true to themselves while changing the game. They perfectly represent this collaboration,” Kelce wrote.
Allar is returning to Penn State for his senior year. He’s thrown for over 6,300 yards and 53 touchdowns since becoming the starter in 2023. Allar grew up in Medina, Ohio, not far from the Cleveland suburb Kelce is from.
The collection includes a varsity jacket, graphic hoodies, a barn jacket, T-shirts, baseball hats, sweatpants and more. The site states it’s an “exclusive, limited edition first drop.”
It’s not the first time Kelce has been seen with a Penn Stater. He’s close friends with former PSU men’s basketball player Ross Travis. He is often at Kelce’s games — sometimes with Swift — supporting him. Travis previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs after he was signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
