Penn State-Ohio State gets kick time, broadcast network for Nov. 1 matchup
Penn State’s matchup with No. 1 Ohio State has a kick time and TV network.
The Nittany Lions will take on the Buckeyes at noon on Nov. 1 in a game that will air on Fox.
Penn State will enter the game on a four-game losing streak, with a bye on Saturday, while Ohio State will be 7-0 with a bye of its own this weekend.
The matchup was expected to be one of the biggest of the season, but that has gone by the wayside thanks to the Nittany Lions. Their season has fallen apart since their double overtime loss to Oregon on Sept. 27. They have followed it with three additional losses to UCLA, Northwestern and Iowa, with the loss to the Wildcats marking the final games of James Franklin’s tenure. His firing on Oct. 12 was a surprising end to a year that began with Penn State ranked No. 2 and having national title aspirations.
Now, the matchup with the Buckeyes will simply be a chance for PSU to play spoiler, with Ohio-native Ethan Grunkemeyer making his second college start in his home state after starting quarterback Drew Allar suffered a season-ending injury against Northwestern.
A win for Grunkemeyer and Penn State is much less likely than it was heading into the season, but pulling off the upset would be massive for the Nittany Lions’ chances of making a bowl game. They must win three of their final five games, which includes back-to-back matchups with the No. 1 Buckeyes and No. 2 Indiana the following week.
Games against Michigan State, Nebraska and Rutgers are their best opportunity to get those three wins.
