Two Nittany Lions make first team, 16 others honored as All-Big Ten players

The Big Ten awards were announced this week, and several Nittany Lions were honored, with two being named to the conference’s first team.

Running back Kaytron Allen was named to the first team by the coaches and media, while guard Vega Ioane made the media’s first team and the coaches’ second team.

Allen became Penn State’s all-time leading rusher this season and is the first Nittany Lion to ever eclipse 4,000 rushing yards in a career. He has 1,303 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 210 carries for an average of 6.2 yards per carry this season, while adding 20 catches for 188 yards and a touchdown.

Ioane is widely considered one of the best offensive guards in the country and helped pave the way for Allen all season. He’s projected by some to be the first guard taken in the 2026 NFL Draft, with Dane Brugler having him going in the first round as things stand.

Allen and Ioane were two of the 18 Penn State players honored — here are the other 16.
