Penn State adds two new Big 12 defensive linemen from transfer portal: Report

Penn State is reshaping its roster under new head coach Matt Campbell, and Tuesday he added two defensive linemen to help do that.

Oklahoma State defensive tackle Armstrong Nnodim and Colorado defensive end Alexander McPherson both committed to the Nittany Lions, according to multiple reports.

Nnodim is a 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive tackle who redshirted in 2024 with the Cowboys but played in all 12 games in 2025. He has excellent strength for the position and should come in and help the Nittany Lions who are losing several defensive tackles, including Zane Durant (out of eligibility) and Xavier Gilliam (in the transfer portal).

McPherson joins the Nittany Lions after one season at Colorado, when he played in 10 games and missed two due to injury. He had 202 snaps on defense and a blocked punt on special teams and was a contributor in both phases of the game, earning 16 tackles, half a sack and six quarterback hurries.

Those two join UCLA defensive tackle Keanu Williams and Iowa State defensive lineman Alijah Carnell as defensive linemen to commit to Campbell and his new staff from the transfer portal. Williams will only have one year of eligibility remaining, while Carnell, Nnondum and McPherson will all have three years of eligibility remaining.
