State High running back D’Antae Sheffey commits to Penn State
A local product has committed to Penn State to play football.
State College’s D’Antae Sheffey announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions Wednesday night on his social media pages.
Sheffey committed to the Nittany Lions over scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Missouri, Syracuse and others.
The newest Nittany Lion commit played three of his four years in high school with the Little Lions, but spent his junior year with Harrisburg. He had a prolific career in State College, tallying 3,806 yards and 58 touchdowns on 561 carries, according to MaxPreps. He also book-ended his career with 1,725 yards as a freshman and 1,613 yards as a senior.
In his lone season at Harrisburg, MaxPreps has him listed with 35 carries for 318 yards and two touchdowns.
He’ll join a running back room that currently features former Iowa State running back Carson Hansen, former Ohio State running back James Peoples and returning Penn State running back Quinton Martin Jr.
