Penn State Football

Parts of Penn State football’s 2026 schedule released. What to know

Penn State football has a kick time and a broadcast network for its road game against Northwestern — and a date for the homecoming game.

Fox announced its Friday night broadcast schedule for the fall, with the Penn State game against the Wildcats on Oct. 2 kicking off at 8 p.m. ET and airing on the network. The game was previously announced as a fall matchup and the planned grand opening of Northwestern’s new Ryan Field.

The Nittany Lions’ homecoming game, while not formally announced, will be against Wisconsin on Sept. 26 according to the university’s homecoming website. It will also once again feature the program’s Generations of Greatness uniforms, according to the website. This would likely be the first game with alternate uniforms under Adidas, with the official switch away from Nike coming on July 1.

The homecoming game would be the first home Big Ten game under head coach Matt Campbell, as the team opens with three non-conference matchups to begin the season.

The Nittany Lions’ season opener is slated for Sept. 5 at Beaver Stadium, with a time and broadcast network to be determined.
