Penn State releases inside look at Beaver Stadium construction project
Beaver Stadium remains in the second phase of its $700 million reconstruction project — with heavy machinery lining the west side of the stadium as it undergoes a makeover — but a small group of fans were recently able to get a sneak peek of the inside.
Penn State posted a video showing Nittany Lion Club members getting a tour of the construction site on the west side.
The tour showed off the inside of the stadium, with walls and premium clubs beginning to take shape. On the outside, the overhanging structure is being put in place that will soon constitute the upper deck of the stadium with new seats and lighting above it.
The project is slated to be completed before the 2027 season, making this the last season Penn State will play in the incomplete venue. The 2026 season will once again feature additional temporary seating, just as it did in 2025.
The project is in the second phase of construction and the third phase, which will take place next offseason, will see the entirety of the renovation come together. That includes new premium seating options, the aforementioned upper deck and a wider concourse to help circulation in the stadium. Those new premium options include executive suites and loge boxes — which have sold out according to the renovation project website — along with two types of club seating that can still be purchased from the official project’s website.
The Nittany Lions will play their first game in the stadium this season on Sept. 5 when they take on Marshall in their season opener.
