Kick times, TV networks announced for Penn State non-conference schedule

Penn State has kick times for its first three games of the season.

The Nittany Lions will play Marshall at 3:30 p.m. at home on Sept. 5, Temple at noon on the road on Sept. 12, and Buffalo at noon in Beaver Stadium on Sept. 19. The times were announced by the Big Ten Wednesday afternoon. Broadcast networks for all three games were also announced with the Marshall game on FS1, the Temple game on ESPN2 and the Buffalo game on Big Ten Network.

Those three announcements give Penn State times for four of their games this year, with the Oct. 2 game against Northwestern in the new Ryan Field slated for 8 p.m.

The game against Marshall will be the first with Matt Campbell as head coach at Penn State. The Thundering Herd are expected to be among the favorites to win the Sun Belt this season after going 5-7 in 2025 under first-year head coach Tony Gibson after the program won 10 games in 2024.

Temple will host the Nittany Lions for Campbell’s first road game as the program’s head coach, and will see plenty of familiar faces with the Owls. Former Penn State quarterback Jaxon Smolik is in a competition with Ajani Sheppard for the starting job at Temple, and could take the field leading the Owl offense in the game at Lincoln Financial Field. Temple is led by head coach K.C. Keeler who, like Gibson, is in his second year leading the program after going 5-7 in 2025.

The matchup with Buffalo is Penn State’s final non-conference game of the 2026 regular season. The Bulls are a middle of the pack MAC team and are led by head coach Pete Lembo, who is in his third year as its head coach. He’s 14-11 in those two years and is also coming off a 5-7 2025 season.

Kick times and networks for the remaining eight regular season games on Penn State’s schedule have not yet been announced.
