Saquon Barkley, Chris Godwin earn All-Big Ten 2nd, 3rd team honors
Penn State freshman running back Saquon Barkley has been unanimously named to the All-Big Ten second-team, while sophomore receiver Chris Godwin has been named to the third team by the coaches and second-team by the media, announced on Tuesday night via BTN Live.
Redshirt sophomore DaeSean Hamilton is an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection by media.
Barkley became the first Penn State freshman running back to break 1,000 yards, with 1,007, since D.J. Dozier in 1983. He did so despite missing 2 1/2 games to injury, and rushing for 100-plus yards five times, and leads the Big Ten in explosive rushing plays of 20-plus yards, with 13. He also has seven rushing touchdowns, tied with Dozier for the Penn State record.
Godwin has recorded 100-plus yards in four games this season on his way to 968 yards on 63 catches. He also has five touchdown catches this season, two of which came in last weekend’s loss to Michigan State.
Hamilton has 509 yards on 40 catches with five touchdowns this season.
