Penn State’s Cabinda, Wartman-White on award watch list

Penn State’s Jason Cabinda and Nyeem Wartman-White were named to the watch list for the Butkus Award on Tuesday.

The award, named for legendary Chicago Bears linebacker Dick Butkus, is given annually to the nation’s top college linebacker.

Cabinda, making his third football award watch list of the summer, and Wartman-White will try to be the first Nittany Lion to win the award since Paul Posluszny in 2005.

Penn State opens its season Sept. 3 against Kent State.
