Four-star tight end commits to Penn State
Penn State’s fourth commitment in the Class of 2018 was, fittingly, a four-star prospect.
Tight end Pat Freiermuth gave his verbal to the Nittany Lions on Tuesday while in town on an unofficial visit, according to 247 Sports and Freiermuth’s Twitter account.

He is ranked the No. 7 tight end in the country and weighs in at 6-foot-4 and 227 pounds.
The Massachusetts native helped to further expand a class that includes receiver Justin Shorter, defensive end Micah Parsons and offensive tackle Chris Bleich, all four-and-five star prospects. While national rankings don’t matter until the class is officially inked in February of 2018, that particular set of commits ranks fourth in the nation as of Freiermuth’s verbal.
