Clarkson edges Penn State women’s hockey

Penn State’s Brooke Madsen tallied her first career goal but it wasn’t enough as the Nittany Lions fell to No. 5 Clarkson 2-1.

After a scoreless first period, the freshman’s power play goal tied the game at 5:10. Kelly Seward and Bella Sutton earned assists.

Josiane Pozzebon put the Golden Knights ahead for good with 2:29 left in the second period. Cayley Mercer had the earlier goal.

Hannah Ehresmann recorded 34 saves in goal for Penn State (0-2), which visits Union next weekend.
