Penn State freshman Cole Hults taken by L.A. Kings in NHL draft

Penn State incoming freshman Cole Hults was taken by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round of the NHL draft on Saturday.

Hults is the second future Nittany Lion to be selected, joining Evan Barrett, who was picked in the third round by the Chicago Blackhawks.

Hults, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman from Stoughton, Wis., played for the Madison Capitols of the USHL this past season, netting six goals and 26 assists. Hults was taken 134th overall in the draft, but is expected to join the Nittany Lions this fall.
