Student section for Penn State men’s hockey sells out in a flash
It took a mere 2 minutes, 12 seconds — just a few more ticks of the clock than a minor penalty — for the Pegula Ice Arena’s student section to have its student section sold out of season tickets.
The online sale for the 13-game package for the Roar Zone opened at 7 a.m. Thursday, and anyone who hit their snooze button on their alarm lost out with the 132-second sale. The speed of the sale of just under 1,000 seats bettered the previous program record of three minutes, set in 2014 with the first year tickets were on sale online.
The student section has been sold out for its season tickets in each of Pegula Ice Arena’s five seasons hosting hockey.
“The Roar Zone continues to show why they are the best student section in college hockey,” coach Guy Gadowsky said in a university statement. “Selling out their ticket allotment in just over two minutes is unbelievable, we can’t wait to play in front of them this season.”
