Former Penn State ice hockey forward Alex Limoges signs contract with Winnipeg Jets
Former Penn State men’s ice hockey forward Alex Limoges is set to continue his professional hockey career, signing with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
He becomes the 11th Nittany Lion in program history to sign an NHL contract by inking a 1-year entry level contract for the 2022-23 season. Left wings Brett Murray and Brandon Biro most recently played with the Buffalo Sabres in 2022.
Limoges began his professional career with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, quickly standing out as a rookie.
He scored 11 goals and assisted on 10 goals in 23 games, owning a plus-minus of 8. During the 2021-2022 season, he recorded eight points in four contests, adding his first career hat trick on March 23 against the Tucson Roadrunners. He was named the AHL’s Player of the Week for March 21-27. He finished with 23 goals and 17 assists in 62 games.
The former Nittany Lion wrapped up his collegiate career following the 2020-2021 season. As a senior, Limoges tallied 10 goals and 12 assists in 22 games played. He ended his career with 125 points on 51 goals and 74 assists with a plus-minus of 26.
